What is next for the UFL? By Tyler Duke
We are now done with the inaugural UFL season and viewership suggests the UFL is here to stay.
For spring football compared to USFL, and XFL’s season combined the UFL saw an increase in nearly all metrics including views, social media followings and an overall increase in male and female viewers needless to say football fans love the UFL.
While there haven't been any official announcements of expansion teams that should be the next step for the UFL as there are plenty of untapped markets in California, and New York that the UFL currently doesn’t have a franchise which would add to the UFL’s brand of the best league for spring football. Additionally, the UFL should try and get some of their big-name players back for the 2025 UFL season including Adrian Martinez, Hakeem Butler, and Carlos Davis. We already know that Jake Bates won’t be in the UFL next season as he will be playing in the UFL for the 2024 season and possibly beyond.
One thing the UFL could improve on is providing users a way to watch full games after the fact the NFL has Game Pass where you can watch games after they have been completed that is something the UFL should look into as it can lead to more of a fan presence.
While the UFL has only just completed its first season it's no secret that the UFL is a great way to spend the spring weekends since the NFL is in its offseason if the UFL can build on this season and get into some of the major markets we can see this league take off and get better competition. Anybody who is a fan of football has to be excited about the product that was put on the field this year.
