5 UFL players who will be on an NFL roster in 2024
While the UFL is only in week two, some superstars have emerged from the past couple of weeks, with the goal for most of these players to earn an NFL roster spot. Today, we will break down the top 5 UFL players that should end up on an NFL roster come the start of the next NFL season.
Honorable mention: Reuben Foster (Houston Roughnecks)
For an honorable mention, we have Reuben Foster. You may remember this name, as he was once a first-round draft pick before he ran into issues off the field and found his way out of the NFL. However, you can’t deny the talent, and Reuben Foster has had a great season with the Roughnecks and can help any team's defense as Foster is always a great run-stopper.
Carlos Davis (Birmingham Stallions)
Carlos Davis is currently leading the XFL in sacks at nose tackle, which is probably the most difficult position on the defensive line to record sacks and is a disruption in the run game as well. With this in mind, we think that Davis could draw a lot of attention from NFL teams as we get closer to training camps if he continues playing at a high level.
Chase Garbers (San Antonio Brahmas)
Chase Garbers is a large part of why the Brahmas have found so much success. The Brahmas don’t have a lot of weapons on offense, so the fact that they have won both of their games so far shows how elite Garbers is. Against the Snow Boats, Garbers was clutch, leading the Brahmas down by double digits in the fourth and is currently leading the UFL in passing touchdowns. Look for Garbers to land on an NFL roster as soon as week 1.
Marcell Ateman (St. Louis Battlehawks)
For a league that is in need of big-bodied receivers, the one that stands out above the rest is Marcell Ateman. Ateman is a massive target, standing at 6’4” with plenty of speed. Ateman should find his way onto an NFL roster if not week one at some point in the 2024-2025 season.
A.J. McCarron (St. Louis Battlehawks)
This one shouldn’t really come as a surprise. A.J. McCarron has been in the NFL for quite some time now and was on an NFL roster as recently as last year. McCarron offers NFL experience as well as solid quarterback play, as McCarron has shown that he is accurate and can provide veteran experience to any incoming quarterback. As with Ateman, if McCarron doesn’t find himself on a roster in week 1, he will find himself on an NFL roster at some point in the 2024–2025 NFL season.
Jake Bates (Michigan Panthers)
Is this one cheating? Well yeah, it is Jake Bates who has been approached by multiple NFL teams after hitting a 64-yard field goal in Week 1 and knocking down a 60+ yard field goal in Week 2. I find it hard to believe that with that kind of range, Bates isn’t going to be on a Week 1 NFL roster.
