Is this the best team in the UFL By Tyler Duke
While the Stallions are the only undefeated team in the UFL we saw Jahcour Pearson make his much anticipated UFL debut and showed just how much of an impact he can make on offense. With the new-look Battlehawks offense we do have to ask the question, are the Stallions still the best team in the UFL?
This week was the Battlehawk's best week they had a ton of fans show up only their second home game and they got their best offensive weapon back from injury, Jahcour Pearson. Jahcour Pearson had 70 yards and one touchdown which is a pretty good game but what is more exciting is what he adds to the Battlehawks offense.
Pearson is an extremely fast wide receiver. I couldn't find an official 40 time but I was able to find an unofficial time of 4.28 seconds which is unbelievably fast and easily makes him the fastest UFL player. This is so important for the Battlehawks specifically because they have two very large wide receivers who aren’t the fastest even for UFL standards, the addition of Pearson to this offense adds a deep ball threat for an already lethal offense.
While Pearson adds a deep ball threat to this offense this should open up the middle of the field which is perfect because Butler and Ateman aren’t afraid of contact coming across the middle, which makes their offense unstoppable when you take into account they have also had a solid rushing attack.
You may be asking why one player makes the Battlehawks better than the Stallions. Pearson makes the Battlehawks better than the Stallions because the Stallions' biggest weakness is in their secondary the Stallions had a hard time keeping up with the Defender's receivers and had to rely on their offense to win the game.
Not to mention that A.J. McCarron is also a very talented quarterback with lots of NFL experience. I had written a article about players that I think will play in the NFL next season if you would like to read more about A.J. McCarron.
The biggest question the Battlehawks do have to answer is whether can they get pressure up front and make other teams' offenses uncomfortable. If Pearson stays healthy and the Battlehawks defense is close to average I think the Battlehawks become the team to beat and must watch TV.
